# Activate your card

> An ID photo and a selfie. About a minute.

Your card's address works from the moment you create it. Activation gives the card its number, expiry and your name, taken from your verified ID.

    Follow Didit's prompts. When it's done, you're sent back to the app.

## Results

| *Verifying your ID* | Didit is still checking | Wait; the screen updates by itself |
| *Verification failed* | The check didn't pass | Try again with a clear photo of your ID |
| *This ID already has a card* | One person, one card | Sign in to the card you already made |

## What we keep

Didit tells our API the result directly. We keep the name on the card and a fingerprint (a hash) of your document, so the same ID can't activate a second card. The app never sends us your document.

  The card number and CVV identify the card in the app only. They are not a Visa or Mastercard number, and no shop accepts them. Payments are signed with your passkey.
